Sophia's Fall begins as the angels are completing Earth (01, In the Beginning). At the culmination of the creation, Lucifer and Sophia, the highest angels, fall suddenly and deeply in love (02, Angels in Love). As Lucifer begins congratulating the angels and assigning them new tasks, he is interrupted by Gabriel, the angel through whom God speaks. Gabriel communicates instructions from God for the creation of the Garden of Eden. Sophia is given the responsibility of creating new creatures called human, in God’s image, to reign over the garden. Unaccustomed to this sort of work, Sophia begins timidly, but eventually creates truly unique beings (03, Souls Carry the Lead).
Lucifer is immediately jealous of Sophia's love for the humans. His companion, Beelzebub, inflames his jealousy (04, Jealousy). Lucifer instructs Beelzebub to gather the angels together to take action in this situation. The meeting quickly turns sour as Lucifer and Beelzebub butt heads with several angels, Gabriel, Michael, and Raphael. Sophia tries to promote reconciliation, but it is no use (05, War in Heaven). War rages in deadlock until God intervenes and banishes Lucifer, Beelzebub, Mammon, and Belial from heaven.
As the rebel angels fall, (06, Falling Stars) they experience painful separation from God, anger, jealousy, fear, and loathing. They finally land in Hell, a desolate, rocky place. It is a prison already containing two outcast creatures, Sin and Death (07, Welcome to Hell). Lucifer and his companions concoct a plan to enact revenge on God (08, Beyond). Mammon, strongest of the angels if not the brightest, bends back the bars of the gates of Hell, through which the Fallen Angels and Sin and Death escape and head up to the Garden of Eden.
In heaven, Michael, the angel of blessing, and Raphael, the youngest angel, watch the goings on in hell. They alert Sophia, who immediately wants to spring into action. As the three of them prepare to head down to Eden, Gabriel stops them. If they fight Lucifer and his companions directly, Earth will be destroyed; they must teach the humans to resist him instead. Sophia protests this, but it is to no avail. (09, Hands Tied).
The fallen angels arrive in Eden and gaze upon the humans for the first time since the fall (10, God’s Breath). When they hear the angels approach, the fallen hide while the angels attempt to teach the humans as much as they can (11, Dusk in Eden) as they journey through the garden. The humans grow tired after their lessons and fall asleep, and the fallen angels reveal themselves. Unable to fight, Sophia engages Lucifer in an argument (12, They Will Know Right) that fails, leading Sophia to strike out at Lucifer. Gabriel appears suddenly, forcibly preventing Sophia from attacking Lucifer. Michael and Raphael flee as Gabriel threatens Sophia. Lucifer speaks to Eve in her sleep, giving her instructions for the following day (13, Eve’s Dream). When the fallen angels leave, Sophia vows to do what she believes is right regardless of the consequences (14, Hands Tied Reprise). Gabriel, Michael and Raphael banish Sophia from Heaven and expel her from Eden. (15, No Turning Back).
At dawn the next morning, Eve meets Lucifer at the spot communicated in her dream and succumbs to temptation (17, Temptation of Eve). She eats the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and begins to talk.
Raphael finds Sophia despairing outside Eden, but convinces her not to give up (18, Cry Out). Full of new resolve, Sophia heads back into the fray, only to come upon Adam eating the fruit (19, Paradise Holds No Joy). At that instant, the fallen angels surprise Sophia and chain her up (20, Poor Sophia, 21, Change for the Better), then proceed to terrorize the humans. As the fallen head out of the garden, Michael and Raphael come to lead the humans out of Eden (22, All is Lost).
All alone and bound by chains, Sophia is full of despair. Gabriel, obeying God’s orders, sets Sophia free to do what she must to save the humans. Sophia rushes to the edge of the garden, where the fallen angels wait, and fights them in order to save humanity (23, Love and Justice). Sophia is killed by Lucifer in the fight, but to his surprise she re-awakens, blessed with new power. Sophia takes her place as the protector of humanity (25, Promise).
